This statement explains which personal data Songhook collects, why, and what your rights are. We handle your data carefully and use it only to create your song and to communicate with you.

1. Who is responsible?

Songhook is a service of Hook Software. For questions or requests about your data, email info@songhook.nl.

2. What data do we collect?

• Contact form: your name, email address, chosen occasion and your message.
• Questionnaire: the answers you provide for the song. This may contain personal information about you and about the person the song is for (e.g. name, age, anecdotes).
• Technical: a functional session and language-preference cookie, and standard server logging (IP address) for security.

Are you entering data about someone else? Please make sure that is appropriate for a personal gift.

3. What do we use them for?

Solely to handle your request, create the song and communicate with you. We do not use your data for advertising and do not sell it.

4. Legal basis

Processing is necessary to perform the agreement (your song) and is based on your consent when you submit.

5. Retention

We keep your data no longer than necessary: up to 3 months after delivery of the song, unless you request earlier deletion.

6. Sharing with third parties

We do not share your data with third parties, except where needed to deliver the service: email delivery and the AI music service used to create the song (see point 7). The website and data run on our own secured server.

7. Your story and AI

Your song is created with the help of an AI music service. The lyrics and the instructions for style and voice are processed on that service's servers and stored there. Your song is not published there: it does not appear in their public gallery and is not shown to other users.

I only enter what the song needs. Details such as addresses, dates of birth and sensitive information are left out, unless they genuinely belong in the lyrics. Would you rather a particular name or detail never reached the service at all? Say so with your request and I will write around it.

8. Cookies

We only use functional cookies (login session and language preference). No tracking or advertising cookies, no third-party analytics.

9. Security

The connection uses HTTPS, passwords are stored encrypted, and data is not publicly accessible. Administration is only reachable from our own network.

10. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data. Email us at info@songhook.nl. You may also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
